FRMT is the Institutional Platform of Rigoberta Menchú Tum which supports the elaboration and implementation of Plans, Programmes and Initiatives in favour of Human rights and Indigenous Peoples rights and of contributions to political decision-making for conflicts solution, through dialogue, negotiations and peace agreements. 

The Forest Peoples Programme supports forest peoples' rights to determine their own futures, to control the use of their lands and to carry out sustainable use of their resources.
