David Alejandro Rubio
David joined the ILC in 2013. He is an Ecuadorian lawyer and committed advocate on Indigenous Peoples issues. He works in support of the Latin America and Caribbean region and focuses on ILC’s commitment 2 (Diverse Tenure Systems), 5 (Indigenous Peoples) and 7 (Inclusive Decision Making - Youth). Prior to joining the ILC, he worked for the Ecuadorian Government on various duties related to the protection of natural and cultural heritage. In his spare time, you can find him in any one of Rome’s historical sites, and is currently studying Cultural Heritage Management at Roma Tre University. If you ever need a historical, cultural and food guide for Rome, he’s your man!
David holds a degree in Jurisprudence, with specialization in the protection of Natural and Cultural Heritage from the University of San Francisco de Quito.
