How can the land community engage in the Strategic Development Goals process and ensure that no one is left behind?
Many organisations and networks working on land issues have made strong contributions to the SDG agenda. Thanks to their lobbying and advocacy efforts, land is prominently featured throughout the Global Goals.
But the work is far from over if we want to keep it there...
In the coming months and years, it is critical that the land community continues to engage and further strengthen its participation in SDG processes at all levels. That means getting more land organisations engaged and targetting more countries in our advocacy work. Not engaging means missed opportunities and risking that the SDGs could promote policies and programs with the potential of negatively impacting peoples’ land rights and governance.
