Land governance is an important part of natural resource management. Senegal has recently adopted a land policy, which opens up prospects for a long-promised, but long-delayed, land reform. One suggestion is that land indicator monitoring facilitates consensus building, thus contributing to the promotion of peace.
Activists petition policy makers to protect community land rights in Liberia

On May 29 2018, 130 people, including 12 traditional chiefs, 20 community members from 6 counties in Liberia tabled a petition to Liberia's House of Senate with 41,000 signatures, asking for policymakers to revise and pass a pro-community land rights bill. Now, we are sharing the petition in solidarity with the civil society in Liberia.
One year after the landmark victory against the government of Kenya, the Indigenous Ogiek Peoples will come together on May 26 to reflect on the lessons learnt and groom support to make the next steps successful.
