Identifying common priorities: a dialogue with multi-stakeholders working on land issues in Nepal

A recent meeting with key stakeholders and the Ministry of Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives (MOALMC) established new relationships with the government of Nepal to start a new Multi-Stakeholder Platform to promote people-centred land governance, with more governmental leadership.
Following the expiration of the land acquisition and distribution (LAD) component of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform with Extension and Reforms (CARPER) in June 2014, the issuance of Notices of Coverage (NOCs) was stalled – leaving the remaining 600,000 hectares undistributed as of 2016.

One year after the attack on Santals in Bangladesh, evacuees remain un-rehabilitated

Most of the evicted Santals were still living in shanties they had built almost a year ago. Many of the injured are still suffering. The victims claimed that they have not yet receiving any compensation which once promised by the government.
