To promote and support those initiatives coming from the NGO sector and more widely from democratic sectors of civil society that struggle against poverty and exclusion and for the construction of a more comprehensive and sustainable human development. Social justice, solidarity, ethics, gender equity, respect and appreciation of differences and transparency are fundamental to our action. ALOP is an association of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from over twenty countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. Established in 1979, it is one of the most enduring efforts of regional integration among the NGOs of the region. ALOP is organized into three regions: Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean (CAMEXCA) region, the Andean region and Southern Cone and Brazil.
