Links between Land Tenure Security and Food Security
The document is the result of an intensive work of dialogue between the ILC Secretariat and the ILC constituency, especially civil society organisations from Africa, Asia and Latin America. The ILC Secretariat - including the three regional nodes - has facilitated the process, collected contributions, packaged information, and produced the synthesis. Members’ participated by answering one or more questions of a questionnaire - shared in March 2010 - addressing key areas on the role of land tenure security in achieving food security. All the participating organisations agree that land tenure and land governance are important aspects of food security, which are currently underrepresented in the HLTF’s Comprehensive Framework for Action.
Both the synthesis document, finalised by the ILC Secretariat, and the full contributions of ILC members have been submitted to the HLTF and can be found in attachment. Participating organisations include: ANGOC (Philippines/Asia); CINEP (Colombia); CODELT (DR Congo); CONGCOOP (Guatemala); FUNDACIÓN TIERRA (Bolivia); RISD (Rwanda); SAFIRE (Zimbabwe); SARRA (India); SCOPE (Pakistan); SDF (India); SER (Peru); and TFM (Philippines).
