Intergovernmental negotiations on the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security (VG) are reconvening at FAO HQ, Rome, 5-9 March 2012, and will be submitted to be considered for adoption by a special session of CFS.
In the lead up to the finalisation, the Voluntary Guidelines Secretariat issued the following call for participants for a e-learning program on the VGs:
"Once the Voluntary Guidelines are adopted, a series of e-learning sessions and courses on topics related to the governance of tenure will begin. This e-learning series will start with a Primer session to introduce the Voluntary Guidelines and will be followed by further sessions on more specific topics related to the guidelines.
In preparation of these sessions, the secretariat is collecting the contact and emails of people who may want to participate in them. If interested to be informed and to participate in e-learning, please fill in the form attached with this message. Please feel free to include in the form suggestions of other names and contacts of people whom you think may also be interested.
The Primer session will introduce the Voluntary Guidelines and aims to obtain the views of participants on future e-learning topics and formats. It will be accessible through the internet and is planned to take place mid 2012. Participants will be able to engage live through a web mechanism during the lesson. The Secretariat welcomes ideas on items that could be included in this Primer session.
Completed forms and suggestions for the Primer sessions are to be emailed to VG-Tenure@fao.org.
Please feel free to contact us through the email address below if you have any questions or feedback and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your support and interest towards the Voluntary Guideline initiative
Best regards, Voluntary Guidelines Secretariat
