El mes pasado en Java del Oeste, cerca de dos docenas de especialistas en monitoreo de la tierra acordaron contribuir al desarrollo del Dashboard, herramienta de seguimiento centrada en las personas. Dashboard mide el progreso de la gobernanza de la tierra por medio de una serie de indicadores acordados a nivel mundial y es una herramienta desarrollada por la Coalición Internacional para el Acceso a la Tierra (ILC, pos sus siglas en inglés).

Years ago, early in Jagdeesh Rao Puppala’s career, he ran into some trouble with the law in rural western India. He had just returned from a small event where some eminent leaders and villagers had decided to green a patch of derelict land. It was the familiar photo-op of a handful of VIPs planting a row of saplings. When he returned to the office, he found an unfamiliar man waiting for him. The man was from the District Magistrate’s office. He handed him an envelope. Inside, Jagdeesh found a notice of trespassing.
The Indigenous Youth Conference 2017 successfully ended in Komolganj, Moulvibazar with strengthened solidarity and enhanced capacities among a bunch of rising indigenous youth leaders of Bangladesh. The youth leaders present vowed to continue their communications and networks in order to work for a better future of indigenous peoples in Bangladesh.
