The Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, IFAD and Its Partners: The Way Forward

The Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues was created by ECOSOC in 2001 with a mandate to raise awareness and promote integration and coordination of activities related to indigenous issues within the UN system. Four members of the Forum - Ole Henrik Magga, (Chairperson), Antonio Jacanamijoy, Ayitegan Kouevi and  Parshuram Tamang - and Lee Swepston of ILO will join IFAD staff to share information about the mandate, scope of work and programmes of the Forum and to familiarize themselves about the work of IFAD and partner agencies related to indigenous issues. Two round tables will be held in the afternoon on Access to land and related resources and on Indigenous knowledge and natural resources management . See attached agenda for details.
