CSRC is a social based movement organization which works directly with the poor and excluded people in order to establish a just and equitable society by tapping the potentials and building a sustainable movement of tenants, landless farmers, Kamaiya, Haliya and other land-deprived men and women. CSRC focuses on land rights and social mobilization through the capacity building of deprived people of land rights.
Mission: CSRC mission is to empower land poor women and men and enable them to claim and exercise their basic rights, including right to land resources. To achieve the mission, CSRC implements programmes and projects aimed to build capacity of the rights holders (poor women and men), change and/or enact polices in favour of the land poor, develop new/alternative models of land reform, and create and mobilize change agents at the community level in favour of pro-land poor people.

Objectives:
Organise, strengthen and mobilise rights holders (land poor women and men) to claim and exercise their rights
Build national consensus on land reform framework and initiate actions towards development of a pro poor land policy and land governance through policy advocacy both at national and international levels
Promote critical engagement with non-state stakeholders (such as IMF, World Bank, Asian Development Bank and multinational companies) involved in land and agricultural issues
Generate learning from ground level actions and practices, and sharing of the knowledge widely at all levels
Activities/Main areas of work:
For the objective 1:
Building and Strengthening National Land Rights Forum as a people's organization lead the land rights movement
Capacity building of staff and activists for effective advocacy, paralegal assistance and building connection and alliances, and mobilization of them as change agents in the districts, region and communities
Mobilisation of the Mainstreaming popular education (action-reflection-action) in land rights movement
Creating momentum for the land reform from below
Linking local movement with national policy dialogues
Linking the land rights movement with livelihood opportunities and cooperatives
For the objective 2:
Promoting dialogues with policy makers, political leaders and other influential actors at national and international levels
Campaign for the establishment of a high level land commission, and provide support to the commission once it is established
Campaign for policy reform or enactment of new policies and laws
Media mobilization at all levels to shape national consensus on land reform
Documentation, publication and dissemination of good practices from national and international experiences
Building and strengthening of civil society concern groups at all levels, from local to national to international
Institutional reforms of land administration and management at central, federal and local levels to ensure democratic governance in the area of land administration and management
Fostering broad linkages and networking with relevant national and international organizations and institutions
For the objective 3:
Establishing critical engagement with these actors and agencies to benefit from their pro-poor policies and initiatives, and counter if they propagate any policy detrimental to the interest of the poor women and men
Strengthening civil society actions on unhealthy policy and Programme of Corporate sector
For the objective 4:
Issue based action research, publication and dissemination
Establishment of learning and resource centres to promote the culture of learning and sharing amongst activists, researchers and experts
Promotion of collaboration with academic institutions for better documentation and dissemination
Studies and deliberation on alternatives of models of land reform
Sharing and exchange of experiences from other contexts and countries
Promotion of research-based publications in the university system
