FENACOOP is a third-level cooperative working at the national level whose members are first and second-level agricultural co-operatives, representing almost half the cooperatives in the country. The cooperative sector handles 52 percent of agricultural production in the country and is aim is to become the leader of agricultural federations for more national representation.

Being the leader federation of agriculture and agro-industry with more representative and national leadership, with capacity to respond in an efficient manner and with high quality services to the demands of cooperatives and especially these of its partners to develop cooperative businesses first and second degree efficient and competitive.
Mission:
FENACOOP is a cooperative body with third-degree coverage and national leadership, dedicated to promoting and strengthening socio-economic, political and cultural development of associated cooperative enterprises, consisting of men and women to help enhance their quality of life in a sustainable manner and in a gender approach.
Objectives:
Expand and strengthen the mechanisms of representation and defence of socio-economic cooperatives rights and interests, especially of its affiliates.
Promote sustainable development of affiliate cooperatives, boosting integration, incorporation and fusion processes in social, economic and business life with gender equity through the application of appropriate techniques and methodologies.
To strengthen and diversify relations between Fenacoop and its affiliates through retraining and upgrading managerial skills and institutional processes of socio-economic development.
Activities/Main areas of work:
FENACOOP activities are concentrated in the services it offers to its members who consist on:
Encourage and promote the various structure forms that provide services to cooperative companies affiliated with FENACOOP, in terms of finance, marketing, projects formulation and implementation and integral technical assistance (with FONDEFER, Instrumentos Económicos Productivos)
Accompany cooperatives that have various resources to develop tourism products to stimulate and increase visitors flow to the communities, a better territorial distribution of tourism benefits, helping to raise standards of local development (Turismo Rural Comunitario)
Technical assistance and training: cooperativism basic training, basic accounting, marketing, technical assistance for strengthening organizational, economis and business cooperatives, technical assistance to producers. Its main aim it’s to promote cooperatives socio-economic business development.
Theoretical and practical courses in Cooperative Service Direction: FENACOOP have designed and offers specialized training packages for managers and administrative staff, for Associates and Managers, and consultancies are also proposed for developing manual functions and management of human resources.
Legal services: the main objective of this component is to represent and defend the interests of Agriculture and Agro-Industrial Cooperative movement, in relation to land ownership, legal statutory laws management, land conflicts resolution, mediation and arbitration, and everything related to technical aspects that affect the cooperative movement.
A marketing office that provides several information services to the Cooperative (reports of new markets, information or contracts with potential buyers, product quality specifications and standards report etc).
