The Task Force Mapalad, Inc. (TFM) is a national federation of farmers, farm workers and individual advocates working for genuine access to land and rural development in the Philippines.
Mission:
To improve the lives of the rural poor by supporting their initiatives to gain access to land, water and other natural resources essential in attaining a humane and dignified life.
Objectives:
To secure land tenure of farmers and farm workers under the Philippine agrarian reform program
To increase farmers’ productivity by mobilizing support for credit capital, sustainable farming technology, marketing and productive services
To create a national and local policy environment that favours genuine agrarian reform and rural development, and social justice.
To develop the capacities of farmers and farm workers in engaging government, civil society and international development organizations for agrarian reform and rural development.
Activities/Main areas of work:
TFM assists farmer organizations through two main and interrelated programmes:
LTI Campaign and Community Mobilization: Farmer beneficiaries’ participation in claim-making processes serves as the barometer of their determination to exercise their long-drawn land rights. It is imperative that a critical mass from their ranks would emerge within the project period. Among the activities carried out are:

Productivity Development Support: Integrating LTI with productivity interventions is a distinct contribution of the Task Force Mapalad in land reform work in the Philippines. Its success in the land rights campaign paved the need to institutionalize a productivity support program to make its gains in poverty alleviation lasting and effective.
