ALLPA
El Grupo ALLPA
Grupo ALLPA is a civil society national network of institutions working on peasant communities, land ownership and rural development issues, with a focus on gender equality and multiculturalism. The group seeks to be an area of continuous exchange of views and experiences, of reflection and of legislative proposals formulation related to local communities’ development, as well as equitable access to land.
Grupo ALLPA (which means land in one of Peru ’s indigenous languages) was set up in 1997 by civil-society organizations and trade unions with interest in the theme of land rights, rural development and peasant communities
- Encourage ongoing reflection on peasant communities, and their potential for development by organizing workshops, seminars and conferences.
- Produce updated information on issues related to peasant communities and land ownership, through studies and specific projects.
- To disseminate and share the results of the activities and researches done by the Group, through newsletters, publications and the website.
- To influence public policies and regulations, through participation in policy dialogue and formulation.
