Description: Chitrakoot Seva Ashram has been working in the development sector since 1994. The organization represents an attempt to operationalize the commitment of affirmative action in support of the deprived, socially and backward region, weaker section of society namely landless, helpless and unorganized people with focus on women and children.

Community Empowerment Facility

Protection and Promotion of Land Rights of People in Manikpur Block of Chitrakoot District of Uttar Pradesh

Aims and objectives:

CSA emerged in 1994 as a step towards the upliftment of needy and poor villagers of a backward district called Chitrakoot belonging to the Bundel Khand Utter Pradesh (U.P.)

The idea originated from its dynamic founder/manager - Hari Shanker. CSA, is a non-government, non-profit, voluntary organization engaged in various projects, such as land rights issues, child education, non formal education, health education, awareness programmes, women's literacy, adult education and condensed course programme. It also provides its specialized services in vocational training (music courses), legal literacy and rural development. The projects are being run in different villages of the district of Chitrakoot (U.P.)

Programmes and Activities:

Educational institution for providing free education, training facilities as well as an income generation programme for the deprived women, children and youths of the areas to enable them to earn and live with dignity.

Enhance the skills of literate unemployed youths, women and children of economically and socially backward areas.

Identify target groups and supporting social action through networking of links at differnt levels of community.

Provide alternative future to the under-privileged children of the villages and make them aware of the child labour,early marriage and exploitation.

Make a comprehensive study of the living conditions of the rural poor and make efforts to address their needs.

Carry out development work, plantation, vocational training, community development programme and RCH programems for the development of rural as well as urban areas.

Increase rural people's awareness of health and hygiene.
Establish public committees (LOK SAMITI) and help other agencies working for social development.
