The SDDP started its activities in 1976 and has been working with the inhabitants of poor rural communities in the Mahabubnagar District of Andhra Pradesh, India, to empower them in order to secure land distribution and titles, access to productive and support resources.

Mission

It aims to empower the weak, ensure gender equity; enhance the standing of the deprived; improve service facilities; and promote eco-friendly agriculture and bio-diversity. It is particularly concerned with drought mitigation and calamity preparedness, as well as organizational and programme sustainability.
