International Human Rights Agreements

    This agreement lists the commitments made by the signing States to increase food security in their respective countries and worldwide. It specifically lists commitments in regard to land rights and equitable gender relations.

    The CEDAW was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1980 and entered into force in 1981. To date, 185 countries have signed the document. It clearly and explicitly protects the property rights of women and all countries who have signed it commit to measure their own laws and policies against it.
