Knowledge Programme

The Knowledge Programme, previously a component of ARnet, was created in order to help CSOs, governments and intergovernmental organizations to learn from each other by providing a mechanism for the identification, documentation and sharing of the knowledge drawn from the practical experiences of similar organizations around the world. The aim was to produce practical guides, case studies and step-by-step presentations of the lessons learned and other reports on the results achieved to enable governments, international financial organizations and other organizations to learn from successful approaches, methods and strategies. In this manner, it was expected that governments would become more inclined to form partnerships with CSOs based upon their new understanding of the practical ways that CSOs had helped to increase the access of the rural poor to natural resources.

Reflecting the multiple dimensions of CSO contributions, the Knowledge Programme covers a broad range of knowledge areas and themes.
