ILC to hold regional strategy workshops As a part of the process of developing a more member-led coalition, the International Land Coalition will be holding two regional workshops in October. Members and partners from Latin America will be meeting in Granada, Nicaragua, from 15 to 20 October, and from Africa will be meeting in Nairobi from 30 October to 2 November. The purpose of these meetings is to develop common priorities, strategies and modalities for working together in each region to support pro-poor land tenure reform. PL, PF and PT Divisions of IFAD will be participating in these workshops. A similar workshop took place in Subic, the Philippines in September 2006 for ILC's Asian members and partners.

Pro-poor natural resource tenure is therefore crucial to poverty reduction and realisation of human rights. This paper outlines Sida's position on natural resource tenure and provides guidance for activities where tenure issues are at stake. The paper aims to support Sida staff and partners in their analysis and dialogue, and in their development and implementation of policies and programmes.
