New Data and Tools for Securing Indigenous Peoples’ and Local Communities’ Land Rights
As part of The Nature Hub we will present LandMark’s new features that offer expanded coverage of Indigenous Peoples’ and local communities’ land maps; a stronger focus on biodiversity and land use change; new data on climate change mitigation and carbon fluxes; and upgraded analytical tools to support land rights advocacy.
The session will offer perspectives from Indigenous Peoples, local communities, and their representatives on the importance of land rights and how the maps and data from LandMark have supported their advocacy efforts, by documenting the vital ecosystem services that they provide and pressures they face from extractive industries.
Learn how new advancements in geospatial data integrated with maps of Indigenous Peoples’ and local communities’ lands can support biodiversity conservation monitoring, climate change mitigation strategies, due diligence opportunities for companies, and other applications at the intersection of nature preservation and land rights advocacy.
