We’re looking for a creative and agile content communications coordinator to lead communications for the ILC EMENA region. The selected candidate will help tell stories from the network and ensure ILC and its members stand out in a world where land rights are often overlooked. ABOUT ILC
The International Land Coalition is a global alliance of civil society and intergovernmental organisations working together to put people at the centre of land governance. The shared goal of ILC's 300+ members is to realise land governance for and with people at the country level, responding to the needs and protecting the rights of women, men and communities who live on and from the land. In the Europe, Middle East and North Africa regions (EMENA), ILC has currently 50 members spread across 12 countries.
The Communications Coordinator will work as part of the EMENA regional team and ILC global team reporting directly to the Global Communications Coordinator and the EMENA Regional Coordinator. They will work together to amplify the voice and achievements of members through innovative communications, position and give visibility to the importance of securing land rights, and to strengthen the communication strategies and capacities of our EMENA-based members.
Main responsibilities
Develop and lead implementation of the ILC EMENA tri-annual communications workplan
- Develop and implement the ILC EMENA triennial communications workplan, taking in consideration the 2022-30 ILC Communication Strategy and ILC EMENA workplan and objectives.
- Carry out annual communications planning exercise with corporate and operational colleagues to contribute to streamlined workflow, and ensure that expectations on communications support are realistic, timely and in line with ILC’s communications objectives; monitor progress and adjust mid-year.
- Manage ILC EMENA brand, ensuring proper usage and approach of ILC branding guidelines within the network and across public channels.
- Elaborate ILC EMENA communications annual/tri-annual reports.
- Work in close collaboration with the communications team to ensure alignment of corporate priorities and strong/bold messaging
- Support EMENA platforms in the design/implementation of communication products/actions and advocacy efforts.
- Support the positioning of ILC EMENA as the main reference on land issues and the centrality of land to support SDGs and face current challenges (climate crisis, transformation of food systems, etc.).
Communicate ILC EMENA’s key messages and results and support resource mobilization
- Produce shareable, compelling and persuasive content to tell the stories coming from of the ILC network and share across different media (press releases, stories from the ground, institutional statements, etc.).
- Support resource mobilization efforts in the region from the communications perspective and produce products that are innovative and attractive for donors
Lead content curation and management across ILC EMENA social media and website
- Develop and disseminate quality corporate and programmatic materials, including newsletters, reports, donor brochures, knowledge publications, briefs, advocacy materials, newsletters, etc.)
- Manage ILC EMENA’s social media accounts with regular scheduling, ensuring timely and relevant updates and connections with advocacy and campaign moments, key international days and current events in the region; promote members’ work, stay reactive to member’s achievements and news.
- Ensure ILC EMENA’s corporate website content is relevant and up to date, supporting any improvement or updating exercises.
- Source stories through project reports and by interviewing stakeholders, including ILC EMENA members, staff and partners to create content for all of ILC EMENA’s digital platforms and outreach efforts; website and social media
- Develp communication/social media campaigns to give visibility and coverage to key launches, events in the region
- Measure digital engagement and reach through analytics.
Promote key ILC EMENA events and its participation in strategic events/processes
- Design/implement communication plans for EMENA regional events
- Oversee the promotion of ILC EMENA regional events
- Oversee the promotion of ILC EMENA platforms/members/representatives at strategic regional/global events
Support the building of partnerships with strategic stakeholders for joint actions and wide reach
- Lead the communication component -design and implementation of coms plan- of the Regional Learning Cycle on different topics
Support internal communication within ILC one team and ILC EMENA
- Support the communicational flow within One team (RCU/Secretariat) via SLACK and update of ASANA[ASMS1] calendar.
- Contribute to the communication within the network to ensure that members/platforms are informed of key news and updates (coms group, mailouts for members, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS / PRECONDITIONS:
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT:
Fluency in English, working knowledge of either Arabic or Spanish.
