Rally at Kot Addu, Pakistan

As part of the run up to the launch of the HungerFREE Women campaign in October, ActionAid Pakistan’s partner organisation, Hirak Development organised a rally at Kot Addu on July 24.

The participants were the women farmers, fisherfolk and inhabitants of Kot Addu. They were marching through the city to call for land rights with a particular emphasis placed on women’s right to land.

The women, men and children held banners which read: “Do not deny the women their right to land”, “The water projects should be designed effectively”, “Government should compensate for the losses of building mega projects”, “Asif Zardari (chairperson of the Pakistan People’s Party) fulfill you promise by giving women and men farmers right to land”.
