ILC Asia opens initiative on the inclusion of Land Watch Asia (LWA) campaign to be contributed in influencing the land policy formulation and implementation through evidence-based advocacy, constructive engagement with governments and regional organisations.
On World Food Day 2018 and the second to the last day of filing of Certificates of Candidacy (COCs), around 300 members from various marginalized sectors and advocacy groups in the Philippines are gathering in front of Palacio del Gobernador, Intramuros, today, October 16, 2018, to send a message to the voters and aspiring politicians—food security over personal interests.
ILC partners in Asia call for wider recognition of land rights as human rights

The magnitude and intensity of land conflicts in Asia have increased over the years, with the continued rise of land and agricultural investments and continued competing claims for scarce natural resources. In various instances, governments and private sector entities alike have facilitated the displacement of rural communities, the deterioration of the environment and agricultural livelihoods, and the loss of lives through land concessions and businesses ventures.
ILC Asia Members' Declaration on the International Youth Day

For the very first time, ILC Asia started the discussion to include the youths within its struggle over land. Young farmers from five Asian countries gathered in Bogor, Indonesia from the 10th to 12th of August 2017. Participants in the regional gathering brainstormed ideas on youth and land which resulted in a common agenda of working together for a campaign with the commitments of organizations who participated. The initiative called “Securing the Future: Land Rights for Rural Youths” was opened on the occasion of International Youth Day 2017.
