ILC Asia Members' Declaration on the International Youth Day

For the very first time, ILC Asia started the discussion to include the youths within its struggle over land. Young farmers from five Asian countries gathered in Bogor, Indonesia from the 10th to 12th of August 2017. Participants in the regional gathering brainstormed ideas on youth and land which resulted in a common agenda of working together for a campaign with the commitments of organizations who participated. The initiative called “Securing the Future: Land Rights for Rural Youths” was opened on the occasion of International Youth Day 2017.
KPA encourages TORA implementation through the Forestry Area Relinquishment Scheme

In relation to the current situation of agrarian conflict and poverty occurring in the forestry area of Indonesia, KPA (Konsorsium Pembaruan Agraria) and its network met with Siti Nurbaya, the Minister of the Forestry and Environment Ministry (KLHK), to discuss further on the Agrarian Reform in forestry area.
Finding repository knowledge on green revolution history in Indonesia

When the Indonesian Government finds it important to expose the Indonesian students with the Green Revolution knowledge, they seek facts and inputs from one of the ILC Member in Indonesia, Sajogyo Institute (SAINS), to perceive alternative views about the Green Revolution practice in Indonesia.
Indonesia’s Java Island is urged to be included in the Agrarian Reform Implementation

As agrarian reform is one of the agenda included within the current Indonesian’s Government, Indonesian CSOs under the KNPA (National Alliance for Agrarian Reform), thereby, were attending a meeting with Ministry of Spatial Planning/Land Agency on May 3rd 2017, aiming to build dialogue on Agrarian reform policy progress.
Seeking genuine agrarian reform in Indonesia and ensuring no regress on the attained process

As Indonesia is entering its second year of its NES (National Engagement Strategy), departing from the lessons learnt from the year one implementation, the priority areas are now correspond to the ILC commitments on people-selected land governance (PCLG), dealing with strong small-scale farming systems, inclusive decision-making, transparent and accessible information, and protection for land rights defenders.
