Indonesian National Anthem filling out the ballroom in Akmani Hotel, Jakarta, August 3rd 2018. The attendees from Government, Human Rights commissions, parliament members, and the CSOs, as well as farmers, peasant unions, and academics were arisen from their sit and expressing their nationalism by singing the anthem together. In this moment, all were one, united for one purpose; bringing social justice for farmers, indigenous peoples, rural women and youth, toward their land rights, through the Global Land Forum (GLF) 2018.

Hosted by the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), relevant ministry institutions were attending a high-level meeting to weave an engagement toward the preparation of the GLF, taking place at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Indonesia.

Rain was pouring down from Jakarta’s sky that morning, Wednesday, 27th September 2017. Nevertheless, it did not stop thousands of activists and peasants in swinging their legs to the State Palace, to urge the President in accelerating the Agrarian Reform.
ILC Asia Members' Declaration on the International Youth Day

For the very first time, ILC Asia started the discussion to include the youths within its struggle over land. Young farmers from five Asian countries gathered in Bogor, Indonesia from the 10th to 12th of August 2017. Participants in the regional gathering brainstormed ideas on youth and land which resulted in a common agenda of working together for a campaign with the commitments of organizations who participated. The initiative called “Securing the Future: Land Rights for Rural Youths” was opened on the occasion of International Youth Day 2017.
Indonesia’s Java Island is urged to be included in the Agrarian Reform Implementation

As agrarian reform is one of the agenda included within the current Indonesian’s Government, Indonesian CSOs under the KNPA (National Alliance for Agrarian Reform), thereby, were attending a meeting with Ministry of Spatial Planning/Land Agency on May 3rd 2017, aiming to build dialogue on Agrarian reform policy progress.
