Consultant for Monitoring and Evaluation at Land Policy Initiative (UN Economic Commission for Africa)
The Land Policy Initiative is recruiting a Consultant for Monitoring and Evaluation to assist in implementing the Monitoring and Evaluation Framework (MEF). This consultancy aims to support and strengthen the efforts of the Secretariat in operationalizing and implementing the Monitoring and Evaluation Framework (MEF). The overall aim of the Secretariat in this regard is to build the capacity of member States and other stakeholders: to collect and analyze data with a view to tracking processes and outcomes of land reforms.

The Land Policy Initiative (LPI) was established in 2006 as a joint initiative of the African Union Commission (AUC), the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the African Development Bank (AfDB). In its first phase (2006-2009) the LPI was successful in developing a Framework and Guidelines (F&G) on Land Policy in Africa, which constitutes a tool to inform the efforts of AU member states in developing and implementing national land policy in support of economic growth, enhanced livelihoods, environmental sustainability and consolidated peace and security. The F&G benefited from the highest decision making level through the adoption of a Declaration on land issues and challenges in Africa by African Heads of State and Government, during the 13th Assembly of the African Union in Sirte, Libya (July 2009).
