The International Land Coalition operates under and is guided by the principles of mutual respect and understanding. It has built its foundations on values such as participatory decision making by its members and transparency with and for its members
The ILC’s Charter and Governance Framework rallies members together around the above mentioned principles, holding each of them accountable to a universally adopted set of standards. The document outlines critical pieces of information such as the Coalition’s origins and purpose and details its governance structure. It continues to be a reference point and helps to navigate the way forward.
The ILC Charter was first approved in 2005. It was subsequently amended in 2009, 2013, and most recently by the 2017 virtual Assembly of Members.
