Global campaign for the International Year of Family Farming
In the face of hunger and malnutrition caused by successive food crises, the international community reacted with required aid emergencies, but without focusing on one of the main causes: the abandonment of family farming. Global cooperation was proposed to reverse this complex scenario, promoting the International Year of Family Farming (IYFF-2014). With this objective in mind, the movement established platforms for political dialogue in more than 50 countries. The successful campaign continues, with a proposal for the declaration of the Decade on Family Farmingdiscussed in the United Nations.
