Promoting Guarani People land rights in Yateirenda

Guarani People began a process of territorial reconstitution more than 40 years ago, when large parts of its population were released from life in captivity at their employers' estates. The main characteristic of the liberated Guarani community of Yateirenda is its social composition. Community members are not only of Guarani ancestry but of different origins, sharing life stories of discrimination and racism. The Guarani People´s organization has managed to recover the land and defending the indigenous collective territory in the area, but it is still facing threats such as oil extraction.
