Multi-stakeholder platforms as a tool for people centred land governance

Following the reforms launched in many African States in the last few decades, land issues have recently raised renewed interest in Africa. These processes of land tenure reform have not always been preceded by broad consultations involving all concerned stakeholders, as recommended by international instruments and guidelines. To ensure that these processes are carried out in an inclusive way, one of the most suitable mechanisms is the setting up of multi-stakeholder platforms (MSP) for land governance at national level.
