What we do
We're cultivating the next generation of leaders in ILC to bring about change in their organisations and communities.
Shaping the future of ILC
The ILC Youth and Leadership Fellowship is a two-year programme for young women and men from the ILC network who are making a difference in their organisations, communities and the land-rights space.
We've developed a dynamic programme for young people from the network to connect to other young people from all over the world and equip them with the tools to develop leadership skills and bring about change, with a special emphasis on promoting women’s leadership.
Young people are dynamic and creative and should have a big stake in building a better world. The aspirations and achievements of young people will shape the future of the ILC network, yet they are often excluded from decision-making.
ILC wants to provide a space for young change-makers in the network to become stronger, contribute to their organisations’ sustainability and emerge as a bigger voice on land rights in their communities and globally.
what we're offering:
This fellowship programme will provide your organisation with a lump sum of 5K USD to cover part of your working time committed to the programme and the implementation of your action plan.
It also offers fellows the opportunity to be active part of a global network and access to a wide range of non-financial resources, such as training, learning resources, global events and other opportunities for collaboration and joint work.
we expect that:
● The next generation is empowered and equipped with the tools to lead changes and promote collective leadership
● ILC members adopt inclusive and gender-just organisational practices with young women and men participating in decision-making and taking leadership roles
● The voices of young activists are brought into ILC governance and activities
● ILC youth ambassadors play an active role in ILC, including in the 2022 Global Land Forum(GLF) and the first ever GLF Youth that will precede the event.
How to participate
We are looking for 16 young and motivated people from the ILC network (2 men and 2 women per region) that want to be part of this experience.
