Gender Justice Advisor
Elisabetta joined the ILC in 2013, to work on Women’s Land Rights and Gender Justice (commitment 4) , and as of 2015 on Land and Environmental Rights Defenders (commitment 10). Since 2018 she is in charge of the implementation of ILC Gender Action Plan. She has travelled extensively to promote the uptake of gender justice tools across ILC membership. Beside her work at ILC, Elisabetta teaches at SciencesPo, Paris ("Water, a contemporary issue" -until 2018 - and "Gender and Development") and taught at the BSIS- University of Kent (“Gender and Conflicts, Development and Migration”). In her spare time she writes as independent researcher on social justice and the commons, and dance! Indeed, one of her favourite memories from one of her missions is dancing with a group of Rwandan women who had created their own organisation to overcome the impact of genocide.
She holds a PhD in Social Sciences from the Istituto Italiano di Scienze Umane (Florence), an LLM in Human Rights Law from the BSIS-University of Kent (Brussels) and an MA in Anthropology of the Ancient World by the University of Siena.
