Network Communications & Campaigns
Roxana Imam is a communications specialist with a strong focus on social justice, rural development, and digital storytelling. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications from John Cabot University in Rome and brings a global perspective rooted in both personal experience and 12 years of professional expertise.
Born into a family of farmers in Jalisco, Mexico, Roxana’s background shapes her deep understanding of the challenges rural communities face - particularly around rural poverty, gender inequality, and sustainable livelihoods. She began her career in the private sector as a Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) specialist, building a strong foundation in digital strategy and audience engagement.
She later transitioned to humanitarian work, serving as a Digital Communications Officer at the Order of Malta, a global faith-based humanitarian organisation, where she led the organisation's digital identity and coordinated the development of its global network of websites, crafting narratives centred on dignity and resilience.
Roxana has since held roles at the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), the World Food Programme (WFP), and currently works at the International Land Coalition (ILC). At ILC, she tells the stories of its global membership, showcasing grassroots struggles and successes in land rights. She also supports strategic communications and collaboration with key networks such as ALLIED, Stand for Her Land, and Land Rights Now, amplifying collective efforts toward land justice and gender equality.
