Senior Tree Scientist, CIFOR-ICRAF
Dr. Antoine Kalinganire is a Senior Tree Scientist at CIFOR-ICRAF with a PhD in Forest Genetics from the Australian National University, Canberra. An expert in agroforestry and tree biodiversity conservation, he has built a strong reputation in participatory tree domestication and land restoration in the dry Sahelian zone of West Africa.
His work focuses on agroforestry innovations to enhance African ecosystems and combat climate change by integrating trees into farming systems for resilience and productivity. With over 50 research publications, Dr. Kalinganire has extensive experience collaborating with international and national research institutions, NGOs, and donor agencies. He also serves as ICRAF’s Representative for the Rights and Resources Initiative (RRI) and the International Land Coalition (ILC) and coordinates ILC Africa’s Regional Platform RP6 – Locally Managed Ecosystems.
