Dr Antoine Kalinganire holds a PhD in Forest Genetics from the Australian National University, Canberra. Antoine has built a reputation in participatory tree domestication and tree biodiversity conservation in the dry Sahelian zone of West Africa. His current activities concentrate on agroforestry innovations for the African ecosystems and mitigating the effect of climate change through increased use of trees for intensifying, diversifying and buffering farm systems. He is a CIFOR-ICRAF Senior Tree Scientist based in Mali Office. He has published over 50 research papers; and has proven experience of collaborative work with international and national research institutions, NGOs and donor agencies.
As an ICRAF Representative for ILC, he sits as an ex-officio member on the Regional Steering Committee, and is also the Coordinator for the ILC Africa platform Locally Managed Ecosystems.
