Did you know?
Indigenous Peoples and local communities live on and manage more than half of the world's land area through customary and traditional systems, yet only 11.4% is legally owned by them. An additional 7.2% is held under legal designation rights, meaning communities can access or manage the land but do not own it.
What we do
Land Rights Now is a collective platform convened by four organisations: the International Land Coalition (ILC), Oxfam, Namati, and Indigenous Peoples Rights International (IPRI). Our network combined reaches more than 6,000 grassroots organisations, local communities and national stakeholders across the globe.
Land Rights Now supports and amplifies community-led efforts by providing strategic capacity building, financial resources, and opportunities for peer learning with others facing similar challenges.
The campaign aims to put pressure on governments and raise awareness of the important role that secure collective land rights play in achieving sustainable development.
Since its launch in 2016, over 40,000 individuals from all corners of the world have taken action on national and global mobilisations.
Join Land Rights Now and stand with 2.5 billion people who depend on community lands.
