Sabita Parida is a development professional with over 20 years of experience working at the intersection of agriculture, climate change, and food justice, with a strong focus on gender equality and women’s land rights. She has led and advised programmes with organisations such as FAO, UNDP, UN Women, and Oxfam India, advancing climate-resilient agriculture, gender equity and social inclusion (GESI), and inclusive food systems. Her work emphasises strengthening women farmers’ rights, promoting agroecological practices, and integrating gender into climate and agricultural policies. Sabita has designed strategies and conducted evaluations for global institutions, including IUCN, GIZ, and IFAD, and has mobilised significant resources, including securing INR 45 million for climate resilience initiatives for women farmers. A Ford Foundation Fellow, she brings deep grassroots experience and policy expertise to advance equitable and sustainable food systems.
