Gender Oversight Committee

The Gender Oversight Committee is part of the ILC Council. It was introduced in 2018 and it has leadership on the implementation of the Gender Action Plan. It sets targets/milestones and responsibilities for 2021-2030 Strategy to implement Gender Justice as cross-cutting pledge. The committee provides feedback and guidance on documents and liaises with regional committees & platforms in order to ensure high-level and focused leadership over the implementation of a gender action plan , as well as formal accountability for gender justice as ILC core value and cross-cutting pledge. In 2022, on the basis of an assessment of ILC Gender Action Plan, feedback from the Gender Oversight Committee and GLF Youth Declaration, the composition of the Gender Oversight Committee expanded to include one representative per region of an organisation with specific expertise on Gender Justice as well as two representatives from ILC youth cohort. The work of the committee is facilitated by the Gender Justice Team, within the ILC One Team.
