The National Land Coalition (NLC) of Jordan has made significant strides since the 2022 Global Land Forum, leveraging its convening power to address critical issues. With a solid governance structure in place, the NLC prioritizes the defense of pastoral land use and the active involvement of local communities in rangeland management. Its strategy also focuses on the empowerment of the rural youth and women. Supported by seed funding from the ILC Global Land Catalyst, the coalition is working to protect pastoralism from the growing threat of mining activities in Western Jordan. As it moves forward, the Jordanian NLC aims to position itself as a solid bridge between government and civil society on land in the Arab World.
