The National Land Coalition (NLC) of Montenegro is the newest addition to the ILC network in the Balkans. Building on the momentum of the Save Sinjajevina Civic Initiative, the coalition has expanded its scope to pastoral areas across the country. With strong grassroots mobilization and international support, the NLC aims to preserve traditional lifestyles and prevent land abandonment. Their strategic plan for the 2025-2027 triennium focuses on achieving full national recognition of katuns (traditional pastoral settlements) and strengthening sustainable land use policies. By fostering collaboration at local and international levels, the Montenegrin NLC is committed to driving systemic change in land governance.
