In a 5 year period, 15 platforms and 33 members implemented a Gender Audit, for an average of more than 8 per year. Among these audits, 6 were conducted as peer-to peer.
ILC started providing financial and technical support to members in conducting Gender Audits in 2019/2020. In 2022, ILC started giving priority to platforms, consistently with our 2022-2030 strategy.
In total, 16 Gender Audits have been scaled up through the implementation of Gender Action Plans (11 of these by members and 4 platforms). Six new Gender Action Plans are being implemented in 2026.
Every year ILC launches a call to provide technical and financial support to members interested in implementing Gender Audits and/or Gender Action Plans.
Members appreciated above all the technical support received, followed by methodology and financial support, which lead them to consider gender audits as impactful on their work.
Interaction with members who previously conducted an audit is also considered relevant and ILC members appreciate learning and knowledge sharing opportunities.
Supporting ILC members and platforms in conducting Gender Audit and in implementing Gender Action Plans is a strategic and strong component of the implementation of ILC Gender Justice Pledge.
