Motlanalo Lebepe, commonly known as Mo, is the Executive Director of the Nkuzi Development Association NPC, advocating for land and agrarian reform in South Africa.
She began her social justice journey in 1998 as a field worker at Nkuzi and later became a Municipal Manager after resigning in 2003. Mo holds a postgraduate degree in Development Studies and focuses on advancing women's land rights while working to abolish tribal levies imposed by traditional leaders, which can severely penalize non-compliant community members.
Her advocacy has empowered land claimant communities and farm dwellers to secure their land and resources. Mo also contributed to the growth of the Africa Steering Committee, increasing the Regional Coordination Unit's capacity from 2 to more officers between 2015 and 2018.
