NGOF (NGO Forum)
Soeung Saroeun is currently the Executive Director of the NGO Forum on Cambodia, a membership-based organization of non-governmental organizations working with different sectors toward sustainable development in Cambodia, and he is a member of several national Technical Working Groups and Inter-ministerial working groups for the development of national Strategic Development Plan (NSDP). Prior to this, he served as the National Consultant for ILO, a focal point for the UN Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE), the Consultant for GIZ to conduct a capacity assessment on solid waste management, and the World Bank Social Accountability Specialist to support Ministry of Interior and civil society organizations to implement the Social Accountability Framework (ISAF).
He is the former Executive Director of the longest and largest membership organization in Cambodia namely the Cooperation Committee for Cambodia (CCC): www.ccc-cambodia.org. He was one of the founders and the former Vice Chair of Transparency International Cambodia. He used to serve as a member of various Technical Working Groups jointly established by the Government and Development Partners, such as the Co-chair of the Joint Working Group between CSO and the General Tax Department, and Vice-chair of the Partnership Steering Committee for Implementation of Social Accountability (I-SAF).
At the regional and international levels, he is currently a member of the Climate Finance Working Group of the Climate Action Network Southeast Asia (CANSEA), the former Co-Convener (Co-chair) of the Asia Development Alliance (ADA), and a Steering Committee member of Asia Democracy Network (ADN), and the Executive Committee Vice President of Forus, the global platform for civil society organizations. He was a Regional Coordinator for Beyond 2015 in Asia for the co-creation of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
He holds BBA and MBA in General Management from local Universities and graduated Master of Art in Peacebuilding from Coventry University (UK).
