Stewarding our Rangelands
About the event
This session is a cornerstone of the #GLFWomen global campaign, which aims to shift who sets the global agenda, exploring alternative ways of leadership (since the dominant leadership have been failing ecosystems and the communities they inhabit). In the context of Africa’s rangelands - vital landscapes that sustain billions - we are moving away from traditional, scripted panels. Instead, we are asking: What if leadership begins where inherited narratives are questioned?
The session reimagines leadership by recognizing it beyond formal positions, in the decisions, shared knowledge and collective practices that sustain land, livelihoods and life. It brings together women leaders from across the continent to challenge deficit narratives and highlights the power, agency and innovation already shaping Africa. Your work and lived experience embody the agency and innovation we wish to highlight.
