Aitkul Mustafaevich Burkhanov is a seasoned forestry and environmental expert from the Kyrgyz Republic, with extensive experience in forest policy development, environmental protection, and sustainable land management. He holds a higher degree in Forestry from Leningrad Forest Technical Academy and various certifications in environmental control and expertise. Over his distinguished career, Burkhanov has held key positions, including Project Manager for the European Union-funded Expansion of Local Smallholder Organic Farming & Forest Products project and National Consultant for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). He has also played a pivotal role in shaping national forestry policies, contributing to the development of the Kyrgyz Republic’s Forest Development Concept and Action Plan. With proficiency in multiple languages, including Kyrgyz, Russian, and Uzbek, and expertise in international project management, Burkhanov continues to lead initiatives aimed at enhancing forest sustainability and biodiversity protection in Central Asia.
